Description
These stunning swans are a perfect addition to any pond. Their blackish plumage makes this species easily recognizable from other swans. In flight, the white flight feathers create a striking contrast against the black feathers. Adults produce a gentle bugling call that doesn’t carry far. Juveniles are dull brown, lighter underneath, with a dark brown bill and grey legs. It’s highly recommended to have a pond or lake, as these beautiful birds spend most of their time floating on the water and grazing on underwater vegetation in shallow areas.
