Description
White Peafowl
The rare White Peafowl is a stunning sight when their dazzling white tails are on full display. These popular peafowl are rare and in great demand by poultry fanciers. The White Peacock, or peahen, is often used as a symbol of purity or love.
The White Peafowl is not an albino, their pure white feathers are a result of a genetic mutation called leucism, where pigment does not stick to the feathers. While a few may be found in the wild, these snow-white peafowl are most commonly a result of selective breeding. Interestingly, when a female White Peahen is paired with a male India Blue Peacock they will produce India Blue, Pied and White peachicks.
