Placing an order with us is simple and works just like other online stores:

  1. Visit our Online Store.

  2. Add the birds or items you wish to purchase to your cart.

  3. When finished shopping, go to your cart to review your selections.

  4. Carefully read our Terms & Conditions and initial the box to confirm you agree.

  5. Enter your shipping and payment information.

  6. Agree to the additional terms, including return and cancellation policies.

  7. Click “Place Order & Pay.”

  8. You will receive a confirmation email.

  9. Most orders ship the first Monday after being placed.

  10. Once shipped, you will receive tracking information via email.

  11. Pick up your birds from your local post office and enjoy!

Q: The birds I want are sold out. Do you have more?

If the birds are marked “Sold Out,” they are not currently available. However, you can join our waiting list to be notified when they’re back in stock. Click here to join the waiting list.

Q: Can I place an order over the phone?

No, all orders and credit/debit card payments must go through our secure online store. We cannot take orders or process payments by phone.


Q: Can I email you my credit card info or pay with a check?

No. For your security, do not email credit card information.

We do not accept checks.

You can pay with PayPal or any major credit/debit card through our website — no PayPal account is required.


Q: Can I cancel my order?

Yes, with some conditions:

  • All cancellations are subject to a 10% cancellation fee.

  • Cancellation requests must be made at least 48 hours before the ship date.

  • Deposits are non-refundable.

  • Pinioned birds cannot be canceled or changed after purchase.


Q: Will my birds look exactly like the ones on your site?

Photos usually show males in full color (winter/spring plumage). Your birds may differ based on the time of year and species.


Q: Do you sell juvenile birds?

We do not use the term “juvenile.” Instead, we refer to birds by their hatched year.

For example: a 2024 hatch pair of mandarins was hatched in spring 2024.


Q: Can I pay now and ship later?

We do not hold orders (except during late summer/early fall due to heat).

Reasonable delays (up to one week) may be requested.

Otherwise, we will cancel (minus 10% fee) and ask you to reorder later.


Q: Do you sell eggs or ducklings?

No. We do not sell eggs or ducklings at this time.

Q: Can I pick up birds at your farm? Do you offer tours?

Yes, pickup by appointment is allowed.

However, we do not offer tours, and no entry into aviaries is permitted. All pickups occur in a separate designated area.

Q: Can I get a photo of the exact bird I’ll receive?

Yes — with the following option:

  • For $35 per bird, we will band, photograph, and email you the bird with its leg band number.

  • If you purchase, we guarantee you’ll receive that specific bird.

  • This fee is non-refundable, even if you choose not to buy the bird.

We do not provide photos for breeder-to-pet quality calls without the fee.

Show-quality Calls may include a photo free of charge.

Note: We discourage unnecessary catching and handling due to the risk of injury, especially during warm weather.


Q: Can you provide references?

Yes. Please read reviews on our Facebook page or search “Swans Farm” on online forums like Backyard Chickens.


Q: What is your return/exchange policy?

  • Live birds and perishables: No returns or exchanges.

  • Gift Cards and Raffle Tickets: Final sale.

  • Non-perishables: Return in unused condition within 30 days for a full refund (excluding shipping).
