Swans Farm LLC is a family-run enterprise consisting of three generations of ostrich farmers. We have spent decades farming and learning about Exotic Birds. Over time, we have built a successful Exotic Birds farming operation. Currently, we have approximately 700 ostriches on the farm and offer them for sale.
HEALTHY RED MEAT
Exotic Birds is a healthy red meat with a texture similar to the finest beef cuts. For health-conscious consumers seeking a lean protein source, it offers a delicious alternative to skinless chicken and turkey. Our ostriches are raised on an all-vegetarian diet without any added antibiotics or hormones.

Ostrich farming in the United States was an idea ahead of its time in the early 1990s. Today, consumers are more engaged and interested in their food and its source. Consumers now prioritize:

For those new to ostrich farming, we typically sell older ostriches rather than hatching eggs or live young chicks. This approach allows purchasers to learn about ostriches and their unique characteristics before attempting to incubate, hatch, and raise chicks. This method has led to a much higher success rate for those just starting. Please contact us if you’re interested in purchasing yearling or breeding-age pairs.
A GROWING INDUSTRY
There is currently a robust demand for quality ostrich breeding stock, as there is a supply shortage of ostriches for processing compared to the demand for meat products in this country. Begin raising a healthy product to help meet the growing demand for an eco-friendly protein source.
OSTRICH CHICKS AND HATCHING EGGS
The prices sought in the market for chicks are often not proportionate to their value at that age. It is typically more advantageous for buyers to purchase adult ostriches instead of chicks, avoiding the challenges of raising young ostriches. Additionally, this brings the purchaser two to three years closer to having production-ready ostriches, either for sale or processing.
The high cost of commodities makes feeding chicks to production age a substantial expense. However, we understand that some buyers may still prefer chicks. If you are seeking chicks or hatching eggs, please inquire. Prices will reflect current market conditions. Hatching eggs are generally only sold in late summer to ensure we meet the demand of our meat customers.
